Many Full Circles explores today’s polka dot craze in the context of late-stage capitalism, where economic instability and absurdity feel ever-present. The exhibition considers the polka dot as both a symbol of comfort and nostalgia, and the circle as a tool for data, organization, and representation. Drawing from Circulism, the belief that everything returns to cycles and circular forms, the show reflects on how we make sense of chaos through repetition, pattern, and shape.
Participants were asked to take a test as part of a collective performance piece, filling in a scantron. The result was a polka dot print that encodes the answers to the test.
A project by Isabella Aguilar and Megann Lawlor.
